From barbering to blonding

We’ve been busy bees at the salon lately, continually learning new skills, hints and tips, because the world of hairdressing is forever changing and, at Boilerhouse, we recognise the importance in keeping our finger on the pulse of new styles, fashion and technique. Many of us have recently attended further education sessions in our spare time to brush up on our knowledge of the trade.

First came a seminar all about the newest fashion in gents hair, courtesy of The Great British Barber Bash. Stylists Vicky, Jo, Michael, Molly, Felix, Ruby, Sophie and Hope all benefited from a morning of skin fade and blending demos, followed by a hands on practical session in the afternoon where all of our stylists perfected their freshly learnt barbering skills on their models.

Following the barbering seminar came a Schwarzkopf colour education day, to keep us abreast of all the latest ranges, new technologies within the colouring world, and a relaunch of BlondMe, our premium lightening range and also home care line. BlondMe, now powered by the Advanced Bonding System, offers a unique colour range that can be tailored to any individual wishes and hair type, meaning we’ve never been so well equipped to look after your blonde desires.

Gabi, Michael, Zahra, Felix, Saskia, Zahra and Sal who all attended the seminar decided a flying lunch visit to Ernest was a good shout, which also got us excited for Boilerhouse Ouseburn opening in the coming months!

During the seminar we were among the first in the country to get a sneaky peek at a small new colour range being introduced to the permanent Igora Royal line, inspired by the rich and dreamy pigments featured in Renaissance paintings. We’ll be sure to share back here on the blog when this range goes live!
