Welcome the new Boilerhouse Ouseburn!
With work on the new Boilerhouse site well and truly underway, see our previous blog post for more details, we thought it time to introduce you to our team. These familiar faces from our Jesmond site have been hand picked for a multitude of reasons to relocate to our brand new Ouseburn salon and we can’t wait for you to give them a visit in their new location soon!
Felix grew up surrounded by hairdressing in the family and now, over 30 years after Boilerhouse’s original inception, he will steer the next branch of the family business, creating a new generation Boilerhouse in the heart of Ouseburn.
His 13 years of experience have developed a keen interest in cutting, and his friendly disposition has earned him a loyal clientele in the process.
Saskia adds further family links to the Boilerhouse mix as Kim and Steve’s niece and Felix’s cousin. Her history in Fine Art education lends itself to creative colouring, but she’s equally as happy expressing her creative background with a pair of scissors in her hand or with occassion styling, favouring braids for both elegant and edgy hair ups. Saskia is also one of our qualified in-house assessors and delivers the colour and styling training on a weekly basis to Boilerhouse’s many apprentices.
Hope is our newest addition to the styling team. Hope is passing on her post as Head Junior at Jesmond to focus fully on styling at Ouseburn. She has blossomed during her 4 years at Boilerhouse and takes keen inspiration from Instagram, regularly picking up new methods for colouring and styling. Anyone who follows our social media will no doubt have seen numerous examples of her work as she’s a big fan of documenting before and afters of her transformations.
Sally is one of Boilerhouse’s originals, bringing more than 30 years experience to the table. Even a broken neck couldn’t dampen her passion for hairdressing, and her years both at Boilerhouse and elsewhere have given her a well rounded take on the world of colouring and styling. Sal is risk taker, relishing big colour changes and she’s certainly not afraid to push the boundaries to create the perfect ‘do.
The first of our two apprentices, Brandon, has been keeping spirits high at Boilerhouse for over 2 years with his cheeky personality. His attention to detail makes for amazing blowdries and his knack for sparking up a wide range of conversations has made him a firm client favourite.
Although our second apprentice Isaac has only been with us just over a year, he’s definitely found his place at Boilerhouse. His head massages at the basin are second to none, making conditioning treatments with him a real treat, and he’s another one to watch with his blowdrying skills.
